Wednesday, 08/13/2008Jerry Finn UpdateThough previously reported by Billboard.com, Jerry has not died. He was taken off life support, yet is still alive. We apologize for the error and wish him the best in recovering.
Jerry Finn has been battling a brain hemorrhage for the past month and a half and has been taken off of life support. Jerry produced albums from Alkaline Trio, AFI, Dance Hall Crashers as well as had his hand on the mixing board of albums by Green Day, Rancid, The Vandals, The Muffs, plus countless others. Monday, 08/11/2008Ted Leo Out On Tour This Fall With Against Me!Ted Leo and The Pharmacists will be all over the country this fall with Against Me! and Future of the Left. Check out our Tours Page to see when they come to your town! In other Teddy tour news, he'll be hitting Denver Colorado just in time for the Democratic Convention. On August 28th, he'll be part of The Onion's "War For The White House Gala Event Spectacular". The show will also include Eugene Mirman, Neil Hamburger, DJ's Boy Hollow, and Tyler "Danger" Jacobson. The event is free, but you can only get in if you RSVP. To do so, email vip@theonion.com with “Onion DNC Party” in the subject and your name in the email body. Wednesday, 07/16/2008Roman of The Oranges Band Puts Up New Music Every 7thRoman, aka "Romania" of Baltimore's The Oranges Band, has a new peer-to-peer music subscription service called Every 7th Dot Com! Here's how he describes the service: "Basically, you give me a dollar a month and I’ll give you exclusive songs, pictures, blogs, song bios, videos and more on the 7th of every month. EASY!" And easy it is! His first episode, June 2008, is free to download on the site and features two tracks of solo work plus all of the above mentioned goodies (check out the video section for a road trip set to some instrumental goodness). Wednesday, 07/09/2008Lots O' Tour News!Summer is in full swing across the northern hemisphere and that means that it's touring season! Lookout! bands are no exception with American Steel doing a full U.S. tour out with friends and Lookout! vets Alkaline Trio. In a rare performance, Juke will be playing this weekend at Gilman! The Oranges Band and Ted Leo will be playing a string of east coast dates this month, including a DJ set by Teddy throughout the Siren Music Festival in New York. Mary Timony will be spending a week in Spain in August for a few festival performances, and The Donnas also have a few shows later in the summer, including their Desert Moon 2 fan appreciation weekend in September.
